INTEGRATED TRIBAL DEVELOPMENT PROJECT, DHUPI [MADHYA PRADESH]

INTEGRATED TRIBAL DEVELOPMENT PROJECTIn the year 1996 SVM collaborated with Church’s Auxiliary for Social Action (CASA) and started this project in 10 villages of Zirniya Block of Khargone District. In this project emphasis was laid on community development, land improvement, watershed development, capacity building of the people especially the women, women empowerment and health improvement. Around 15,000 people of the village were beneficiaries of these initiatives.

At present (2007) intervention on Right Based Approach is being carried out in around 20 villages of the region. The work involves capacity building of local Community Based Organizations, Research and Publication, Networking and Alliance. To check the migration of the people a special programme called as Food for Community Development is being carried out in four Villages with the support of CASA in this area. The work undertaken under these initiatives include making of Percolation Tank, Traditional Stop Dam, Land Bunding and Well Deepening.
