AGRICULTURAL DEVELOPMENT
Mr. Sunit Bhai Bonde, with Bachelor in Agriculture started Krushi Prabodhan4 Department. This department helps in dissemination of scientific knowledge to the farmers so that they can have optimal production from their fields. The condition of the tribals was very poor they were unable to get good quality of seeds and hence the institute started a seed bank and material bank. Hence this helped in giving seed and material to these poor farmers on time of their requirement. This helped in changing the face of the state of agriculture. There was good yield of Jawar and Cotton, horticulture, cattle rearing, growing of fodder for cattle. In all these sectors Krushi Prabodhan has done a marvelous work.
Various other allied activities along with the agricultural development were also started like dairy. With the support of loans from the bank high quality of cows were procured and given to the tribal people. To ensure good sale of milk cooperative was also formed in the region. To ensure good irrigation facility in the area and to develop more wells, arranging pumps to draw water from the well etc Community Aid Abroad, Australia (CAA) gave financial assistance to SVM to work in these areas. In some of the sectors the people started good banana garden, cotton production also increased in the region due to the intervention of Krushi Prabodhan. The institute also conducted research to develop better quality of oil seeds. These researches were conducted on Sunflower, Teel, Groundnut etc. All this work of the institute came into light at National Level. At that moment the then Union Minister for Agriculture Mr. Rao Virendra Singh who was also friend of Bala Saheeb approved the institution as Krushi Vigyan Kendra. On 1st August 1984 the deputy president of SVM and veteran Tribal Development Activist Mr. Wazir Bhai Tadvi inaugurated the Krushi Vigyan Kendra5 (KVK).
